Processing is an open source programming language and development platform. It can be downloaded for free at the processing.org website. By simplifying the syntax and compilation process of the programming language Java whilst simultaneously extending its visual capabilities, Processing makes computer programming more accessible for people with little previous experience, especially those "visually minded". It is being utilised by a large and lively community composed of students, artists, musicians, architects, designers and researchers. Processing is an open source programming language and development platform. It can be downloaded for free at the processing.org website.

By simplifying the syntax and compilation process of the programming language Java whilst simultaneously extending its visual capabilities, Processing makes computer programming more accessible for people with little previous experience, especially those "visually minded".
