Drupal is an open source application framework and content management system especially apt as a platform for online communities. Simple to use, seriously extensible and growing at a phenomenal rate, Drupal is developed by a large community of software companies and hundreds, if not thousands of freelance developers, so it's not going away anytime soon either.
Biography:
Peter Brownell is a drupal developer and sometimes evangelist. He has been a professional developer for 12 years, but abandoned "working for the man" about 18 months ago to become a full time open-source guy. He is now a partner in a Drupal consultancy called "code positive", and suffers from delusions of grandure.
